“She created a schedule to balance her work and personal life”

At Balance By Michelle, we value faith, family, friends, and other things that make life meaningful. If you find yourself trying to balance work and fun, routine and flexibility, or home and exploration, this is the place for you.

We’re a community of passionate individuals who try our best, have grace when we fail, and celebrate life’s simple joys.

Here, we take the time to step back from our busy schedules and reflect on what truly matters…

What is most important to you?

What do you spend the most time on?

Growing up, I was a self-proclaimed high-achieving “Enneagram 3” and proud of it. My strong work ethic paid off with great grades, winning a global competition, and landing my dream job. This also came with a cost: a stressed out, burned out version of myself with a misplaced identity. I believed my “go-getter” personality made me who I am. But through reflection, coaching, and therapy, I began to see the relationship God wants to have with me and the balance He desires for my life. What started as a pursuit of self-help developed into a deeper relationship with God, a better understanding of myself, and a lifelong goal of balance.

My first experience in the coaching world was with my blog and YouTube channel called “Go Getter Gal”. My goal was to help others develop “go-getter” characteristics to reach their full potential. To achieve this mission, I decided to pursue a coaching certification. Along the way, I discovered that my idea of coaching was quite different from what it actually is. I entered my coaching education thinking I would offer advice and guidance to help clients. In reality, coaching is all about asking the right questions to help clients create their own solutions. After finishing my classes, completing the requisite number of practicum hours, and passing the certification exam, I started Balance By Michelle to help others live more intentional and balanced lives.

At Balance By Michelle, I believe that life is not just about achieving goals or checking off the next item on your to-do list. Life will never be perfectly balanced, but it can be intentional, productive, and fun.

I used to worked at Jeni’s and we had Jeni’s ice cream at our wedding instead of a cake!

I live in Charleston, SC with my husband, Harrison, and our daughter, Peggy, along with our Sheepadoodle, Sully. I enjoy at-home workouts, reading, and connecting with friends over good coffee.

I didn’t know it then, but this was taken the day before I gave birth to my daughter, Peggy!
